EXPERIENCE DUNIA
Although pitched on one of the busiest Serengeti wildebeest migration routes, it’s Dunia’s unbeatable location – offering easy game drive access to the central and southern Serengeti – that sets this camp apart.
In fact, some would say it’s only when the migratory herds of wildebeest begin their long march north to Kenya that Dunia Camp reveals its true beauty. When its secret corners step from the shadow of the ‘greatest show on earth’. Corners like the languid Seronera River that attracts herds of resident antelope, and feeds a forest hiding ever-elusive leopards. Or the rhinoceros sanctuary of the Moru Kopjes, one of the few corners in the Serengeti you’ll find the endangered black rhino.
The Kopjes themselves are equally a highlight; granite domes standing proud against cloud-spangled skies, providing a perfect vantage point for the large prides of lion that call this area home. Its very name may mean ‘endless plains’, but here in the wide valleys around Dunia you’ll discover there’s far more to the Serengeti than infinite seas of waving grass.
Game Drives
Wildlife viewing and bird watching game drives within the central Serengeti are offered twice per day. Experienced guides encourage guests to see and experience the Serengeti through their eyes, sharing a world of small and large wonders that only they truly know and understand.
Balloon Safari
Balloon safaris are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa, as you silently fly over the plains teeming with herds of wildlife in the early morning. Typically, a balloon safari begins around 6 am and lasts for around 1-2 hours. Balloon safaris (additional cost) in the Serengeti take off from designated sites in the nearby Seronera area. The safari is followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush, a fitting end to a memorable flight in the wild.

One of our guests at Dunia shares her Tanzania safari experience on her blog
26 September 2012
Shirley Sinclair, guest at Dunia, Oliver’s & Sayari in 2012, shares her Tanzanian safari trip experiences.
About Dunia Camp:
“There were some dramatic views and landscapes as we travelled through the Serengeti National Park to our next camp, Dunia. (…). The shower was a bucket shower which meant someone had to bring hot water and fill our bucket up outside the tent, hoist it up and then when we switched the lever we had a nice warm shower!”
